If you have an unpaid medical bill it will not go on your credit report unless the hospital or doctor that you owe this debt to subscribes to at least one of the three major credit agencies, Experian, Equifax and Trans Union or the debt is turned over to a collection agency, which will definitely report it to one or more of the three credit bureaus. If you dispute this debt within 30 days of being notified that you owe this debt The doctor/hospital or debt collector cannot place the account on your credit report without a notation that you are disputing the debt in question. Removing a medical bill that has been reported to a credit report, how can i do this? You can if you agreed to pay the debt, you could try to negotiate to have the account removed from your credit report in exchange for payment, but be sure to get this agreement in writing (signed and dated by other party) in order for it to be legal and binding, before you send in payment. Do not rely on the debt collectors oral promise that the account will be removed. Member in good standing with: ![]() Click here to read about our alliances
