Today we are always tempted with advertising and marketing schemes to buy things that we really do not need. TV commercials are sometimes misleading and deceitful because its the advertisers job to make you WANT the item they are selling. The make you feel that you must Keep Up With The Jones, this is cause of out need to always out do what other have.

If you try and limit exposure to these impulses that will assist you in actually waning to buy these items that you don't really need.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself before buying something.

  1. Do you really need the item?
  2. If you buy this item will it be compromising my priorities in life?
  3. If I don't buy this item will I be unhappy about it?
  4. Will I be buying this item to fulfill a need or buying it just to keep up with the jones?
  5. Is there an item that is less expensive but does the same thing that can satisfy me?
  6. Have I shopped around to other stores to see if you can get cheaper?
  7. Will I ever grow tired of this item cause I don't really need it?
  8. Am I paying for a brand name or is the quality of the product?

These are just some questions that you can ask yourself that can help you with impulse buying.
